Senator Eldridge Announces Immaculate Mchome as Chief of Staff

Mchome’s promotion comes after 6 years at Team Eldridge

BOSTON — State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough), announced today that Immaculate Mchome will serve as Chief of Staff in his office.

Immaculate is a first generation immigrant from Kenya, currently residing in Templeton, MA, and who grew up in Clinton. Immaculate has been Senator Eldridge’s Director of Constituent Services and Environmental Policy Advisor since 2022 and Legislative Aide and Environmental Policy Advisor since 2018. Before joining Senator Eldridge’s staff, she served as the Campaign Manager for Senator Eldridge’s 2018 re-election. Immaculate was also a congressional intern for Congressman Jim McGovern in his Washington D.C. office.

Prior to her political involvement, Immaculate worked at World Farmer’s Inc. at Flats Mentor Farm in Lancaster, supporting immigrant and refugee farmers in the Commonwealth, and worked as a nursing assistant. Senator Eldridge first met Immaculate while touring World Farmers, and was immediately impressed with her work to connect immigrant and refugee farmers to selling their crops to area stores and farmers markets, her strong work ethic, and her positive attitude. Immaculate continues her passion for supporting others by serving at her church and community.

“I am extremely proud to announce that Immaculate has been promoted to serve as my Chief of Staff,” said Senator Eldridge. “Immaculate has developed a strong policy knowledge on Beacon Hill, excels at interacting with other Senate and government and non-profit offices, is extremely organized and detail-oriented, and has gained my trust over the past six years of our working together. I am also grateful to my outgoing Chief of Staff, Michael Carr, who is retiring from the State House, for his mentorship of Immaculate. Team Eldridge is ready to hit the ground running for the 2025-2026 legislative session!”

Immaculate succeeds Michael Carr, who is retiring from state service after 18 years at the State House, 12 years as Senator Eldridge’s Chief of Staff and 6 years in the House as the General Counsel for the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, including 2 years as Staff Director for Rep. Ruth Balser.
