Senator Eldridge, Representative Gregoire, and Representative Gentile Announce $185,000 MassTech Grant for J&J Machine Company, Inc.
Funding will assist in expanding and improving operations for the Marlborough-based company
Marlborough, MA – State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough), Representative Gregoire (D-Marlborough), and Representative Gentile (D-Sudbury) announced today that a $185,000 grant has been secured for J&J Machine Company, Inc., a Malborough-based business dedicated to manufacturing precision components. In 2022, J&J Machine Company was named the Massachusetts Small Manufacturer of the Year by the Small Business Administration.
The Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP) grant, administered through MassTech, aims to help small and medium sized manufacturers in Massachusetts better meet the demands of industry, and serves to further innovation within the Commonwealth. The grant issued to J&J will enable the company to purchase two pieces of valuable equipment — allowing J&J to create complex parts with increased precision and efficiency, as well as reduce potential sources of error.
“This grant will help J&J improve their impressive operation, and by doing so will also further improve Marlborough’s local economy,” said State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough). “I am excited to see small manufacturers receiving much needed support in expanding their operations, and I am grateful to MassTech for approving this grant.”
“I want to thank MassTech for their commitment to support manufacturing in the Commonwealth,” said State Representative Carmine Gentile (D-Sudbury). “Congratulations to J&J on their grant award. It is wonderful to see that Marlborough’s proud tradition of being a city that manufactures exemplary products continues.”
"J&J is well-deserving of this grant and I am hopeful that this funding will further assist yet another of Marlborough’s small businesses in expanding their operations and improving innovation efforts within the Commonwealth,” said Representative Gregoire (D-Marlborough).
