Senator Eldridge and Representatives Gregoire and Gentile Announce $145,000 Grant to Employment Options in Marlborough

Program participants will receive training and placement into local food service jobs 

Marlborough, MA - State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton), Representative Danielle Gregoire (D- Marlborough) and Representative Carmine Gentile (D- Sudbury) are happy to announce that the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development has awarded Employment Options, Inc. a $145,000 grant through the FY22 Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities. Grants through this program are given to organizations that prepare young adults with disabilities for employment by providing occupational skills, coaching, and pre- and post- placement support. Through partnerships with Niche Hospitality, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Work Without Limits/UMASS Medical School, and Quinsigamond Community College, program participants will receive food service job training and placement. 

Located in Marlborough, Employment Options runs a variety of advocacy, employment, and education programs in the service of individuals with mental illnesses. Individuals with mental illnesses have vast skills and potential, and Employment Options works with many actors across the state to increase awareness and opportunities for families and individuals.

“I am pleased to see the Commonwealth funding fruitful programs that provide those with mental illness with the professional support they need to thrive in their communities,” said State Representative Carmine Gentile (D-Sudbury). “The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development picked Employment Options because of their excellent work, in no small part thanks to their dedicated staff that have worked through a pandemic, to assist families and individuals.”
