Senator Eldridge and Representatives Gregoire and Gentile Announce Grant to Employment Options in Marlborough
The grant will help Employment Options mission of empowering and finding employment for individuals affected by mental illness
Marlborough, MA - State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton), Representative Danielle Gregoire (D- Marlborough) and Representative Carmine Gentile (D- Sudbury) are happy to announce that the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development has awarded Employment Options, Inc. a $55,471 grant through the FY21 Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities. Grants through this program are given to organizations that prepare young adults with disabilities for employment by providing occupational skills, coaching, and pre- and post- placement support.
Employment Options, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Marlborough with the mission of empowering individuals and families in mental health recovery to thrive in their communities. The organization supports people living with mental illness through employment, education, and advocacy programs.
“Thank you to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development for recognizing the incredible work done by Employment Options,” said Senator Eldridge. “Now more than ever it is crucial to support people with mental illness challenges in the workforce, and this grant will help Employment Options expand their programming to advance this cause.”
The Employment Program for Young Adults with Disabilities Program is funded through the state budget and administered by Commonwealth Corporation on behalf of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
“Every young adult deserves the opportunity for gainful employment both to support themselves and enhance their sense of self-worth. With this grant, Employment Options will be able to prepare many of our young adults living with disabilities for successful employment,” said Representative Gentile. “The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development is to be commended for investing in our young women and men starting out in the workforce.”

Employment Options will train and place participants in culinary and hospitality jobs. Employment Options strives to cultivate a culture of inclusion that recognizes the ability and value of young adults with disabilities.
