Senator Eldridge Encourages Residents 55+ to Apply for New Housing at The Coolidge Affordable Housing Complex in Sudbury

Sudbury, MA - State Senator Jamie Eldridge announces that B’nai B’rith Housing’s newest development, The Coolidge at Sudbury 2 (a brand new affordable rental building for ages 55+), is now accepting applications for its upcoming affordable housing lottery.

Phase 2 units, built adjacent to Phase 1, will have one bedroom and be approximately 675 – 700 square feet. The new building will include common space and amenities, including a meeting room, library, and fitness center, and offices for a property manager and a resident service coordinator. The Coolidge and BBH will continue their efforts to provide wellness, health and educational programs for the building.

The Coolidge at Sudbury 2 has 56 newly available apartments. There are 44 apartments available to households with an income limit of 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). For a one-person household, that maximum is $53,760, and for a two-person household, that is $61,440 (a minimum income of $34,950 is required). Additionally, there are 12 units for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with an income limit of 30% of the AMI. For a one-person household, that maximum is $26,850, and for a two-person household, that is $30,700 (no minimum income is required). Rent for the 44 units is $1,165 per month, and rent for the 12 units is based on the income of the family. 3 mobility-accessible units and 2 sensory-hearing units are available as well. Preference for the 12 units for those who are homeless or at risk of . Preference for 70% of the 44 apartments will be given to people who live and/or work in Sudbury, for whose kids attend Sudbury schools, etc. Applications are currently available and are due 6/18/20.
