Senator Eldridge Secures $75,000 in FY24 Budget to Support the Environment and the Disabled in the Town of Southborough

Funding supports Southborough initiatives that promote the environment and increase accessibility for people with disabilities

BOSTON – State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough) announced that he secured a $75,000 earmark in the FY24 Budget for the Town of Southborough to promote environmental initiatives and increase accessibility for people with disabilities. On July 31, the Legislature enacted a $56.2 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), reconciling differences between the versions of the budget passed by the House of Representatives and Senate and earlier this year.

“This funding will allow the Town of Southborough to start planning for charging stations throughout the area, and to make existing buildings more accessible for all residents,” said State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough). “I am grateful to my colleagues for joining me in supporting these important initiatives.”

“The Southborough Select Board greatly appreciates this valuable assistance from Senator Eldridge’s office,” said Andrew Dennington, Chair of the Southborough Select Board, “and we look forward to a continued partnership with the Commonwealth in helping to meet our residents’ needs here in Town.”

Having passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, the FY24 budget now moves to the Governor’s desk for her consideration.
