Senator Eldridge highlights Nashoba Valley Medical Center's vaccine program for patients and area residents
Steward COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Nashoba
Steward Medical Group is pleased to offer a community-based program for residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The clinic is by appointment only.
The Steward Nashoba vaccine clinic is located at 190 Groton Road, Suite 170, in Ayer, in the Medical Office Building on the campus of Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
The clinic will be offering vaccines on the following schedule:
• Mondays- 10 a.m. to Noon
• Tuesday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. to Noon
Eligible residents who are not patients of Steward Medical Group or Steward Health Care should call: 978-784-9283 to leave a message with their name, spelling of their name, phone number, and reason why they are eligible at this time for the vaccine. The calls will be returned within 48-72 hours for scheduling.
Anyone who receives a COVID-19 vaccine will need to sign an eligibility form at the vaccine visit to attest they qualify to receive the vaccine.
**Patients currently being served by a Steward provider should call their Steward Primary Care Provider’s office to be scheduled for their COVID-19 vaccine, if they meet the current eligibility requirements.
Eligibility at this time includes:
• individuals age 65 or older
• individuals living in low income or affordable senior housing
• individuals aged 16 or older with two or more of the health conditions or factors that increase risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
• The vaccine continues to also be available to individuals eligible in Phase 1 (this includes health care workers, home-based health care workers, first responders, staff and residents of congregate care settings, and staff and residents of long-term care facilities), individuals age 75 or older.
As of Feb. 18, permissible health conditions include:
Cancer
Chronic kidney disease
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
Down Syndrome
Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Asthma (moderate-to-severe)
Pregnancy
Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
Immunocompromised state from solid organ transplant
Obesity and severe obesity (BMI>30 kg/m2 or higher)
Sickle Cell Disease
Smoking
Supply of vaccine in Massachusetts is currently very limited. Although Steward Medical Group is scheduling first dose appointments, we still encourage patients to obtain an appointment through any of the available state-run sites, if a location obtained through a state site is more convenient or timely for them.
