Senator Eldridge Announces New Date for Annual Senior Conference: Thursday December 10th

ACTON, MA – State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) is proud to announce the rescheduled date for the 40th Annual Senior Conference, previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to be held on Thursday, December 10th.

The event will start at 11AM.

The Senior Conference is intended to provide seniors with a day of useful information, educational workshops, resources for caregivers and their families, as well as entertainment.

The virtual event will be hosted on YouTube, Facebook, Senator Eldridge’s website, and Zoom. Presentation topics include Resources for Seniors, Depression Is Not a Normal Part of Aging, Stretch and Relax, Aging: Planning Considerations for Yourself and Your Family, Let’s Talk, Financial Education, Music Songs and Sing-Alongs, and Gifts and Q&A with Senator Eldridge.

As the pandemic has continued to impact day-to-day life, Senator Eldridge has remained aware of the needs of seniors within the district and will tailor most programs to COVID-related issues.

“It is critically important that we protect those in our community, particularly seniors, who need assistance and who are at most risk by our current situation.” said Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton). “I will make every effort to advocate for programs that are important to seniors including making sure that seniors have enough PPEs, that our nursing homes are safe, that funding is available to Council on Aging, ensuring that home services don’t get cut and increasing funding for food pantries to combat food insecurity.”

Registration for the virtual event is now open! Participants can visit senatoreldridge.com/seniors and click register, or email Bianca DeSousa at Bianca.desousa@masenate.gov with subject “Senior Conference Registration.” Participants who register by Sunday Dec 6th will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.

Questions for the Q&A segment with the Senator can be submitted online by visiting senatoreldridge.com/seniors or emailing James.Eldridge@masenate.gov with subject “Senior Conference Question.”
